Job description
The Electronics Technician is responsible for all electronic systems and computerized controls for the facility, which include locking systems, fire alarm systems, intercom/public address system, closed circuit TV, nurse-call and other security related systems. She /he ensures that all preventive maintenance schedules are executed on a timely basis per manufacturers' specifications or client requirements. She / he will also perform required administrative tasks pertaining to the position, such as work order documentation and general record keeping. All work performed must conform to standards per the contractual agreements with the client, as well as CGL standards for quality and accuracy and all OSHA codes and regulations.
CGL Facility Management provides contract facility maintenance services for the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and this position is located at that XXXXX facility. All applicants must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check appropriate for working in a correctional environment, as well as a pre-employment drug test.
This is a hands-on position requiring expertise in maintaining and repairing electronics and electronic systems for a large facility.
Other specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
Must become familiar with the design and layout of the facility. Learn locations of installed base of electronic equipment and systems. Obtain understanding of correctional operations and security procedures as they relate to electronic systems in the facility.
Assists in the development and maintenance of a computerized maintenance management database (CMMS), preventive maintenance schedules, warranty status, and inventory for spare parts, materials, and supplies.
Maintain a professional relationship with client staff, answer questions, provide solutions and make recommendations. May be asked to serve as a technical advisor during client meetings and presentations.
Exhibit the ability to perform work and display the effective use of electronic test equipment.
Make competent inspections of the building security and electronic systems.
Perform preventive maintenance to smoke detectors and related control systems.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Complete all documentation required in compliance with CGL's computerized maintenance management system.
Job Duties
Preventive and corrective maintenance responsibilities; minimum 4 years maintenance experience in electronic controls and systems for commercial environments.
Immediate full time opening for an experienced Electronics Technician to work with private facility maintenance company.
Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
M-F day shift with emergency call-backs sometimes required.
Must be a team player, have strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to succeed while representing our firm with the best possible service to our clients.
