aspx Classification Title:
Human Resources Clerk Part Time PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION The purpose of this classification is to provide clerical support to the Human Resources Department.
Incumbent reports to a Human Resources Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties are normal for this position.
The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
Answers department telephones; assists callers with questions regarding job openings and other general personnel information; refers callers to other staff members as appropriate; and takes messages.
Greets visitors, provides information, and/or refers persons to appropriate staff member.
Performs clerical work in support of the County's recruitment and selection activities; posts openings on the job board; mails weekly job opening listings; receives, stamps, sorts, and files incoming applications; and enters information into the applicant tracking database.
Administers typing tests to applicants; organizes and administers public safety registration; sends qualification and rejection letters to applicants; and purges files of inactive applications.
Sends leave reports to each department; and pulls leave reports after six months.
Verify current and former employment for applicants and/or employees.
Creates and maintains varied log-in sheets for applicants and other personnel functions; and summarizes the number of applications distributed and received monthly Receives, dates, and distributes incoming mail.
Prepare outgoing mail.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS Screens the Director's calls in the Secretary's absence.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year of experience performing clerical work and typing/word-processing; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
ADA COMPLIANCE Physical Ability:
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements:
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals.
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors:
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
